This week was fantastic! We had our last lesson with our Filipino couple. They head back to the Philippines this week. We taught the Plan of Salvation. At first the lesson was a tad rocky, as they just shot questions as us one after another, but as we went on and talked about each subject, the Premortal life, This life and kingdoms and what not, you could just see the spirit come into the room and start teaching their hearts. By the end of the lesson, they had no questions. They were so happy and satisfied with this plan. They felt that it was from God. I know there is power when this lesson is taught. It wasn't like we were sharing anything new with them. Their spirits have heard this plan before, and like it says in Job in the Bible, when we heard this plan we all shouted for joy. I think their hearts just kind of had a taste of that feeling they've already felt before. The end of the lesson was sweet. They sincerely thanked me and Taufaga Shimai for finding them and teaching them the truth. They have been looking and searching for the truth for a long time. I bore my solemn testimony that their search has ended. This is the Church of Jesus Christ. This is the true church they have been looking for. They thanked us again and told us that they are going to find the church in the Philippines and continue to learn. They actually know where the building is and they said that they've passed it a lot of times. I know they will accept the gospel and be baptized in the Philippines. I have never felt so sure about that with any other investigators. I`m not even worried! What a miracle and blessing we had to witness their first steps in the light of the truth. I am so deeply honored that God lead us to them. Yesterday we were planning on teaching lesson three to Yamaguchi-san after church and invite him to baptism, but during Sacrament, he was flipping through the bible dictionary and came cross the word, `baptism`. He read it and turned to Taufaga Shimai and said. `I want this. Uketai.` What?! And the theme for that sacrament meeting just so happened to be Repentance. As he listened, he told us that he wants to do that. He wants to repent and become clean! By the end of church he was prepared to have our lesson and he committed to a baptismal date for April 25th without any hesitation. We used a baptismal calendar like the AP`s challenged us to and it outlined very nicely what he was going to learn that day. As he came across Word of Wisdom and Law of Chastity, he informed us that he still has problems but he`s going to try and ganbaru! Talk about the elect!!! This was a great week! My cup of gratitude to our Heavenly Father is overflowing. I love this gospel and am so blessed to be apart of this work. Till next week! See you in 6 |
