Halloween!
Believe it or not, they actually do have somewhat of a Halloween here in Japan. Our Branch had a Halloween party and it was way fun! Our miracle of the night is that our investigator Sato san came! It was way good just to have fun and talk. Haha so me and Babcock left our costume ideas to the last minute, so she went as a soccer player and I went as a Lamanite >;D Haha we did what you could with whatever was in the sister apartment in an hour okay? ;D But it was way fun! Pretty sure only the members got who I was, no biggy.
It was kind of a good to tell the non-members who I was, I'd be like ,"Oh, I'm something called a Lamanite. It's a character in the Book of Mormon. Let me tell you about it!" Hehehe >;) Boom! Easy missionary opportunity B)
This week though me and Babcock did a ton of finding. I actually like tracking and talking to people on the street most days. With Fujita we kind of focused on visiting LA's, but this transfer we're focusing on finding the elect!
Me and Babcock shimai were just talking; talking about Japan and the work in Japan. I admitted to her that there were sometimes where I wish I was called to a country that was just on fire with baptisms.
She kind of gave me a cool analogy of bamboo. Bamboo is not like other plants as you know. Bamboo grows way fast right? Bamboo grows so fast that you can actually see it grow sometimes. But, Bamboo has a complex rooting system and it literally takes years after you plant the bamboo for you to see anything sprout out of the ground. That's what Japan is like right now. Right now, we're probably in the rooting stage. Getting strong roots solidified for years, but eventually, Japan is going to explode with missionary work! We're going to see dozens and dozens of temples in Japan!
I can't wait to see it. I love where I've been called. Other missionaries can have their German pines or palm trees.
I'll stick to my bamboo :D
