Transfer 8 Week 1 Is that crazy or what?! I hit my year mark March 5. I can`t believe it`s been a year since I`ve been on this crazy hard, amazing adventure. Only 6 months left to make the most of it! This weeks miracles: We hadn`t heard from our Filipino investigators in a few weeks and when we came to their house for their lesson, nobody was home. We`d call and no answer. We feared that perhaps since they had been studying with the Jehovah`s Witnesses before, that they might've heard some gossip about the church. But during planning Taufaga Shimai decided to call one last time. They answered and said that they've been partying a lot and have been reading the Book of Mormon every night! Wahoo! We have a lesson tonight on the Restoration. Can`t wait to see how it goes ;D We also had a lesson with our recent convert Kinjo Kyoudai. He is really quite the miracle. He was a heavy smoker... five packs a day. We found out that he has quit smoking for good! His daughter also gave him huge bottles of alcohol as a present and he gave it to us and our member joint to get rid of for him! Haha you should`ve seen the smile on his face when he saw us walk out the door with those huge bottles of alcohol ;D Haha the atonement can change anyone. Our investigator Yamaguchi san came to church again and we had a lesson on the restoration with him. It was funny because the church only had the old school version with the Joseph with the groovy hair, so we watched that. Yamagushi-san said he`s going to read and pray everyday to find out the truth! Also for P-day today, me and Taufaga went back to that giant statue called Narita san. We actually got to go up in it all the way. Going through the temple of the Buddhist stuff was interesting and pretty weird. There was one point where there was a dark room that said, `Hell` on it. We were going to go inside and check it out. But holy cow it was just freaky looking from the beginning. It had skulls everywhere, red and black walls and life size manicans of people being tortured so we thought,`Mmmmm..perhaps not.` and just went and saw the museum. haha crazy. I love my religion. That`s all I have to say. Love you all! Have a great week! |
