This week has been awesome!!!
Ha so one day this week we were trying to find this less actives house
because she was putting on her weekly English class and she wanted the `natives` to come and help her out. She lived so far away! It was pouring rain that day and we got lost. We ended up spending 2 hours in the rain trying to find it. The lady in the end just invited us to next week because we were so late. So we spent another 2 hours in the rain on our bikes going back home. Gosh we felt like junk! We just wasted like 4 hours in the rain for nothing. We got home, dried off and went out to go housing. It was like a miracle. We found 3 new investigators all in the same apartment complex, one right after another. It was awesome! It taught me, no effort is wasted. It was an awesome day :D So Friday this less active lady(who is like thee nicest person in the world!) offered to take us to Costco. Now if you're wondering, Costco is not a thing here. there is probably one on all of Kyushu. It. was. amazing! We got all this awesome American food. Mom Dad: I totally bought a big thing of Chocolate covered almonds and a tin of English cookies. Don't judge me! I probably wont be able to go there again on my mission! The lady , Sister Tanaka bought us Costco hotdogs and just told us her mission stories when she served in Kobe. It was so great. She had such great advice and things she's learned. After she took us to this Buddhist shrine. It was seriously an awesome experience. It was so pretty to walk through, and they had a bunch of Buddhist statues, including this giant one at the top of the mountain! It was crazy big. To be honest, my spirit was kind of confused there. I felt the spirit so much just walking through this beautiful Buddhist grove, but its Buddhist. What the heck? But my trainer Nelson Shimai said that she feels that its because this is a barriel ground of a lot of the dead. At the end of the day, I almost felt guilty. We just had WAY to much fun with tanaka Shimai. I felt like I should`ve been sweating on my bike, or knocking on a hundred doors. But my roommate Sister Maynes explained it as `tarrying`. In the scriptures, it said that Christ would tarry with people. Even when Christ had places to go and people to see, we would still tarry with people, or stay behind with them. That's what we need to do with people. Despite our busy schedules, its a Christ like attribute just to stay behind with someone. Its like going on a hike and staying with the slowest person. That's what Christ does. And just being with that lady, talking to her about missionary work and about her life and family and giving her an opportunity to serve was a way we
could tarry with her. It was an awesome week!
