This week was amazing. We had a super spiritual lesson with Inemasu-san. We had a lesson about the restoration. Introduced the importance of baptism from the beginning and referred to it throughout the whole lesson. We watched the First Vision movie and the spirit was there. It was tangible. The air was thick.
When we invited him to accept a baptismal date for June 13th, there was no hesitation. He took it and told us that he`d try. We`re so excited for him! We also had a lesson with Yamaguchi-san. This old man is so funny. He makes me want to laugh and grind my teeth all at the same time.
He came to church and I sat by him in sacrement. He`s learning English and was reading his little beginners book. He turned to me and pointed to a phrase, `I`m going to miss you.` He knows how missionary transfers go. He knows I`ll leave soon. He points me me `you. I will miss.` Gosh that just touched my heart. I said the same. I don`t know if I`ll stay in Kurume for much longer, but I am going to miss this man so much. After we had a lesson. He It started out so rough. He`s a talker and the lesson was going no where. I said a quick prayer that we`d have the gift of tongues, that He`d feel the spirit and that we`d be able to make a baptismal date. We decided to show a video and it brought some of the spirit back. We testified about baptism and gave him him the choice of when to be baptized. When we gave him the calendar and he realized that he had he choice, you could tell he just felt so liberated. He told us he`ll pray and read the Book of Mormon to find out the truth. Before we were about to end he told me, `Your words, my heart. Moved.` And just kept saying that what I said really touched him. We told him that it wasn`t us, but that it was the spirit. Then he said, `The spirit, came from God, and through you moved my heart.` Gosh! This guy understands how the spirit works!
Moments like this make the mission so much more sweeter. I love it. I love being an instrument that the spirit can work with.
I love this work. I do. I live for moments when people say that they feel something. Something different. I wake up everyday, to see someone come unto Christ.
He is the light in this world of darkness. He is my savior and this is his work. I love you all!
See you in 4 fast sundays
